What's in it

First track day questions
What do I need for my first motorcycle track day?
A roadworthy bike that passes the organiser's tech check, a full leather suit or two-piece zipped together, a helmet to the current standard, gloves, boots and a back protector. The checklist covers the full list, plus tape for lights and mirrors and the documents most organisers ask for.
Do I need a race bike or track tyres?
No. Most first track days are run in novice groups on road bikes with road tyres. What matters is that the tyres are in good condition, the brakes and chain are sound, and nothing is leaking.
What tyre pressures should I run on track?
Use your tyre maker's track chart and check pressures hot, straight after each session. Track pressures are usually lower than road pressures, and the right number depends on the tyre, so the checklist leaves space to log yours.
Is the checklist really free?
Yes. Enter your email and the PDF arrives in your inbox. After that you'll get the occasional new guide, and you can unsubscribe in one click.
